I may have passed but I was too stupid to think to look up the answers. Mostly it was obvious though so not a big deal.

also, does it really have to have a minimum word number for replies?

Anyway, from now on I shall refer to this as the arrogance forum.

Furthermore spelling and grammer are irrelevant so long as comprehension is acheived.

Dictionary.com provided half my general knowledge answers. But the grammar parts of the test were fun. You could borrow some questions from the tickle IQ test

Dont say that, now we will have all the kiddies coming here.

Do the questions get changed or is there only a fixed set of questions? If the latter is true, then perhaps the kiddies will come even faster. The minimum post is a great idea, even if it bars a few genius 119 character spiel (sic). Perhaps they should impose a minimum character of 25 for all posts.

As of right now 16.8% of people who take the test pass it. There are currently 92 intellectuals out of 545 members who have taken the test.

The question remains: Is the test hard enough?

I don't know how well I did because the server crashed (or whatever other jargon you want to add here) and after a couple of days I checked to see if I had got in. I guess it could be made harder, but how?

i dont know. it seems to me the test is the wrong kind of hard?

it is the kind of hard people could cheat on, which means that the spammers can get in, but other intelligent people might night make it.

i dont necessarily know what can be dont to fix it, maybe making it more like the mod test? with written answers?

Heres a suggestion.

Why dont you put a time limit on it or at least have negative marking depending on the time it takes to complete. That way it will cut down extensive google and dictionary searches.

Having said that, it does take some intelligence for people to research questions.

I agree with the proposal; the test is sufficiently difficult but could be easily bypassed.  A time limit would be good.

I only looked up one, so I'm not completely dishonest. :]

I probably passed by that one answer, though.

The post length thing is sort of getting on my nerves. It causes me to be rambly and redundant, as what I could've clearly said in three concise sentences must be spread sketchily throughout six.

Remember William Strunk?

Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts.

Not to say we're all writing novellas here, but surely you get the point.

No I do not try to sound clever. I just try to uphold that moniker of intellectual to its proper standard...

Come on. Lighten up. A few more SAT words never killed anyone especially when some people on this forum seem so intent on calling everyone a moron. Well if some of us consider intellectuals to be so "above" everyone else, we ought to enjoy speaking like stuffed up 50-year old Englishmen sipping brandy and smoking cigars.

I fully agree. (BTW one way in which to "cheat" the length limit is to quote the post you are referring to. It works wonders...

The new test is better. I passed it without the use of google or any other stuff, yay. It's less biased than the last but probably more suited to those not clued-in with global affairs and the like.
