Some consultation would have been nice. If a topic like this had been posted before you removed my >2 year old image months ago (not in the 'past few days' as you noted), allowing me and others an opportunity for input, I would have recommended all previously approved images remain on the servers and for these new rules to be applied to new images only. Do you know what the image was named? If so I can find out who deleted it, or if you can link it to me I will be able to check it out.
As I said, it was months ago, so I don't remember. It was 'bikini' something or other. I already went through this (linking to an externally hosted image) with a mod when it happened anyway, and I don't have the link or the image with me now.
The guidelines for these images should be applied to images from now and the past. Images are relevant for there here and now but something like a topic from a long time ago isn't (if a new guideline was brought out and a topic was affected from a long time ago).
Just as it's not fair to remove topics that were created years ago, it's not fair to remove an image that's been up for years either. You don't remove old topics because it makes other content (images, topics, posts or otherwise) appear out of context and because it is a piece of history. The same goes for images. I had posted this particular image numerous times in the forums and now those posts won't make sense. The image is also a piece of my LiveWire history as it was one of the first images I uploaded here and I had comments dating back 2 years or so.
Someone must of found your image, either reported it to a mod or messaged it. Or a mod came across it when looking at your images in general.
I figured as much. I can understand with a fresh image, but when the image has been up for over 2 years it's a bit of a surprise.

The point is that it's annoying when people make rules and then apply them to times that had different rules - at least give people notice (ie your image will be deleted in 3 days and heres why) so they can save it or whatevs.
