I'm a senior this year and I'm really confused about college. I'm not the best student -  I have a 2.75-3.0 cumulative GPA, and I haven't really done anything extra-curricular or out of the ordinary. I did well on the SAT and haven't yet taken the ACT, but that's pretty much all I have going for me.

I'm probably not going to get into a great college, and I've been thinking that maybe I should start out at a community college and get my basics out of the way.
It's not really what I want to do, but do you think I have a choice; or a chance at an actual university?

Is that a weighted GPA? What did you get on the SAT?

Weighted, it's about a 3.0. I got an 1820 on the SAT and I'm retaking it in October.

Depends on how good your high school is and just how good your SAT score was. Extracurricular is important as well, so that and your GPA will hinder you but you can go to a University. See an advisor/counselor and just send out a bunch of apps to safety, likely, and a reach school.

Not sure how Texas is, but in CA it's not too hard to get into state universities.  They're excellent choices here.

I can assure you that any after school activities don't really matter in college.

It doesn't matter once you're in college, but it helps when filling out college applcations.
