my parents always spanked me with a big wooden spoon. It hurt like hell, but I learned my lesson. I think its good to whip your kids, just as long as they know that you're only doing it as a punishment. It's not abuse unless you're actually hurting the kids (hurting as in damaging them.)

you're supposed to discipline your kids, not punish them. punishing doesn't work because they don't know why what they did was wrong or what the right thing to do is

Thats the stupidest thing I ever heard, you want to hurt your children? Spanking is hitting you ignorant ass hole, the worse they do the harder it will be ? Do you even hear yourself? Thats sad and wrong, you plan to spank your kids before you even know their personalitys , let alone if they respond to some other form of discipline - and yes other things do work, good parents know this

Since when is whipping/spanking a kid not hurting them? You are physically hitting them causing pain, so yes you are hurting them you dumb ass.

So, I don't ever see the need to spank a child.
