I think false claims should be reciprocated. If you accuse someone of rape, and are proven false in court, you get the same sentence as an actual rapist.

Not necessarily. A failed attempt at prosecuting someone does not mean the prosecution was lying; it merely means there wasn't enough evidence to convict.

Yes, but try telling that to a rape victim. Being scared away by the hefty machinery of law courts along with a fear of not being believed is the number one reason for victims of rape to back down, if a rape-like sentence was a potential outcome to testifying an already fragile and scared victim will find it even more difficult. It's hard to be rational in that situation. On the other hand, I honestly don't know how to raise prosecution rates and lower false-imprisonments. Although it's true that the numbers of false accusations, let alone false imprisonments, is insignificant when compared to the numbers of free rapists.
